WAXING NOSTALGIC expands handcrafted Beeswax Ornaments into the 2010 corporate gift and special events market. The San Francisco International Gift Fair, July 31 - August 3, 2010

The beeswax ornaments produced by WAXING NOSTALIC are cast from an impressive collection of molds inspired by antique springerle and speculaas cookie boards, colonial gingerbread presses, primitive American butter molds, Victorian chocolate molds, and vintage European marzipan molds. About 50 different designs are available, spanning a wide range of themes and sizes, from tiny miniature corns to enormous, ornate 16th century wedding hearts weighing in at half a pound. Each ornament is cast, trimmed, and tinted entirely by hand from 100% pure white beeswax. No paraffin or chemical stabilizers are added. Integral color (achieved with beeswax-based pigments) is permanent and will not fade. Although surface tints are somewhat more delicate, they should not rub off with normal use.

As an added value, each ornament comes with its own personalized hang tag which states the actual name of the ornament, the date its original mold was produced, and (if known) who carved it. The tag also contains historical information, instructions for care, suggestions for use, and other relevant information. "If someone wants the name of a special event printed on the front of the tag," says Taylor, "we can customize it accordingly."

Although most clients prefer their ornaments to be cast in a natural shade, occasionally WAXING NOSTALGIC gets requests to match the color of bridesmaids' dresses, a corporate logo, or even the color scheme of floral arrangements, table linens, etc. Working from client-provided swatches, samples are produced for approval and orders filled accordingly. Client-provided ribbon can also be used.

Creative jewelry and home décor by Zarah Co. Featured at The San Francisco International Gift Fair, July 31 - August 3, 2010

The unique appeal of Zarah sterling silver enamel art jewelry results from two rare kinds of talent: To create fresh, new designs, we seek out contemporary artists renowned for achievements in any of various art forms. To obtain technical excellence, master artisans who are expert in the old-world craft of enameling, translate the designs into distinctive pieces of jewelry. They paint each article by hand using solutions containing colored granules of glass. Next, they fire the pieces in a kiln to produce an alluring richness of color. Some designs are then plated in 24-karat gold.

The unprecedented quality of Zarah's ArtGlass sterling silver jewelry is made possible by applying leading-edge digital image processing and fine, silversmithing to the exquisite images of renowned artists. Showcased in beveled glass, the artwork is depicted in incredible detail with brilliant and accurate color rendition. All of our ArtGlass jewelry is reversible, which means you can show either of two different images, one on each side. To reverse an earring design, simply slip the earring off its ear wire, flip it around, and slide it back on.

What delights you more, the awesome grandeur of nature or the enchanting creations of talented artists? Our shell jewelry is a confluence of both. Charming images by renowned artists are engraved onto natural shell, forming a masterpiece with subtleties in color and texture that only nature can provide. Nuances in appearance respond in mystifying ways to shifts in viewing angle and illumination. The frame is crafted in sterling silver by master artisans. As with all things natural, no two are ever identical.

This Year Anne Taintor Rolls Out a New Line of Lip Balms, Magnetic Postcards, Shot Glasses, and a 25th Anniversary Shopper! Find us at The San Francisco International Gift Fair, July 31 - August 3, 2010

In 1985, Anne Taintor glued the words "intellectuals gone bad" onto an advertisement clipped from a vintage magazine and featuring a pair of proper and glamorous women. Twenty-five years later, what began as one woman's attempt to make a living working from home while caring for her young daughter has become a thriving and wholly original business based on giving voice to modern women's secretly subversive thoughts.

Anne's wry text paired with images of idealized women from the 1930s, 40s and 50s appear on greeting cards, magnets, sticky notes, eco-friendly totes, and dozens of other stylish yet affordable products. Anne has been called "the patron saint of female frustration" and "the queen of collage kitsch," and her products have come to serve as pop-culture touchstones for what More recently called "a community of people who share [our] sweetly cynical outlook on life and are delighted to be in on the joke."

Anne Taintor Anniversary Shopper
With 100% of Profits Going to The Global Fund for Women
Among the new products to be introduced in 2010 is the 25th Anniversary
Shopper, a commemorative 15.7" x 15. 5" shopping bag made of 100-percent recycled materials and featuring images of dozens of the most popular Anne Taintor illustrations from the past 25 years. A perfect gift for anyone who's had trouble choosing just one image-now they're in a single product. Best of all, 100 percent of the profits from sales of the 25th Anniversary Shopper will be donated to the Global Fund for Women, an organization that shares Anne Taintor's drive to give voice to and improve opportunities for women everywhere. MSRP is $13.00.

South American Accents featuring contemporary crafts and folk art from Peru - See our full line at The San Francisco International Gift Fair, July 31 - August 3, 2010

As a young girl growing up in Lima, Peru, I eagerly anticipated trips with my parents and brothers to the tiny village of Mito, where my paternal grandmother lived. Other times our trips were to Ayacucho and several other small towns in the Andes, to visit Grandpa Isaac's home town, where my maternal grandfather grew up.

Our visits with family and friends always included excursions to the homes of local artisans. For me, these visits were more like historical journeys. I listen attentively as family members and friends explain the personal connection of each craftsman's work to cultural traditions and legends.

Years later, with sustainability in mind, fresh ideas and 2 young children to raise in the United States, I decided to make my dream come true. With the help of my father Pedro and his guidance and positive approach I opened South American Accents as a wholesale business to bring contemporary crafts and folk art for the delight of many of my customers.
