Bindah gifts are the perfect one-of-a-kind gift fashioned one piece at a time in a village, not a factory.

Bindah the perfect one-of-a-kind gift handcrafted by Indonesian artisans will not be in attendance at NY Now August 17-21, 2013. For additional information on our collection or to place an order please visit us online at

Craft elevated to Luxury for Home Décor and Fashion Accessories. Not Merely Possessed. Prized.
A snowflake. A fingerprint. A Bindah.

What is a Bindah? It is a totally original work of art and yes, no two are exactly alike. Coming to you not just from an Indonesian woman's hands, but her heart. The painstaking yet joyous result of months of her life. Fashioned one piece at a time in a village, not a factory. Perfection is the deadline. Absolute beauty, the quota. Behold skill and artistry demonstrated at a level seldom seen in our times.

Functional Art. Each Bindah consists of a hand woven basket made of the ata vine and detailed with hand sewn glass beads. Centuries old Indonesian artisan traditions have been cultivated and combined with global attitude to showcase usable art for home décor and fashion. Strong and beautiful at the same time. Why not?

One dewy morning as I strolled through one of the more remote villages in Bali, I came across an intricately beaded basket. It was small...fist sized...but the colors and motif continued to draw me closer to look at the detail. I was so fascinated by it that I felt almost powerless not to collect it. Alas it was not to be as this small piece was part of a family tradition and heritage for the local children. I was able to collect another small and painfully intricate box which I sent to my father. Like me, he was enthralled by the craftsmanship.

Determined to find learn more about the work and the artists behind it, I found myself back in that very same village visiting the artists homes as they crafted their wares with their children playing at their feet. I felt I was in the presence of an unbroken chain that had begun centuries ago. I knew that I simply had to play a part in it. I knew that I wanted to support these family circles and given women the freedom to do their craft wherever they chose.

Bindah was born.

Fashion. Make a fashion statement with Bindah jewelry, purses or handbags. The exquisite design and craftsmanship make these one-of-a-kind fashion accessories prized to behold, and admired by others.

A 700-year old art. Talk about timeless design.

The birth of a Bindah begins with a handwoven basket consisting of the ata vine or rattan from the Island of Lombok or the village of Tenganan in Bali. The village of Tenganan is a settlement that pre-dates Hinduism and is home to the Bali Aga people, the original Balinese. This is a place of unchanging tradition and ritual upheld by a fervent pride in the magic that hands can produce when given the devotion of time and love. A single ata vine can be separated up to 6 times to provide a rich woven canvas for every Bindah.

A Bindah gains color and individual personality as glass beads are hand sewn onto the woven canvas by women in their individual homes throughout the small villages in Java, Bali, and Sumatra. A small piece may take 1 day to bead. Larger pieces can take 9 months to complete. This is simply "Art from the Heart" and personality takes shape each day the artist works.

A Bindah is original, intricate, and timeless.

Gift Giving. Give the gift of Bindah and you're simultaneously helping an Indonesian artist improve the quality of life. Bindah gifts are the perfect one-of-a-kind gift for that one-of-a-kind friend or loved one.

Seasonal. Hand-woven Christmas ornaments for you or as a gift!

Bindah Vision. Our vision is to create economic opportunities for Indonesian women artisans and to give them international recognition for their beautiful works of art. Bindah pieces are created by women in rural villages enabling them to create from their home with their children close at hand.

We applaud these talented and patient artisans who spent countless hours, days, and months creating the uniquely perfect Bindahs you see on this website. It is our honor to promote Bindah to the global audience!

CandyLipz Wins Gold for Technical Design of The Xtreme Lip-Shaper System at INPEX

CandyLipz LLC will not be in attendance at NY Now August 17-21, 2013 for more information on the Xtreme Lip-Shaper® System or to place an order please visit us online at

On June 22nd, 2013, CandyLipz wins gold for technical design at INPEX, the world's largest invention show.

CandyLipz is A-ONE-OF-A-KIND lip plumper product, found nowhere else on the marketplace. It is called the Xtreme Lip-Shaper System. This invention makes lip surgery, lip injections, and chemical-based lip plumper products OBSOLETE because it solves a problem, no one else can! The product is small, attractive, and portable. Weighing less than 4 ounces, it can do magic for your lips. In under 2 minutes, you can double the appearance of your lip size and the look lasts for 2 hours or more. This product has been engineered to perfection-- to shape and contour your lips the way not even surgeons can. Any deviation from this design, and you will surely get lip deformities.

The benefits of this breakthrough invention are astounding!

1. It creates the appearance of breathtaking, single-lobed lower lip or a double-lobed lower lip just like Angelina Jolie.
2. It can enhance the upper or lower lip separately.
3. The design is built to raise the arches of the Cupid's bow, fills in grooves, and lip pits, lift the corners of the mouth, and block the development of duck lips.

The features of this invention are also unique.
1. It is a hand-operated suction pump.
2. It is designed to be used hands-free so multi-tasking is a breeze.

Recommended for males and females aged 16 and over.

Consumers Line Up for New Lip Enlargement Product

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., April 23, 2013
CandyLipz LLC announces a new product - the Xtreme Lip-Shaper® System - that allows users to naturally control the appearance and size of their lips. It's no longer necessary to experience expensive and invasive injections to achieve more luscious and fuller lips.

Product users can enhance their upper, lower or both lips, so the lip enhancement/enlargement system can create single or double-lobed lips. The Xtreme Lip-Shaper® System includes a lip enhancing pump which is compact, attractive and easy to use; in fact, it's designed to be used hands-free, making multi-tasking a breeze.

Lip enlarging pumps come in different sizes; the process takes two minutes and results last up to two hours. This lip plumper works by creating the perfect suction scenario. And, users may use the lip enlargement pump as many times during the day as they wish after an initial conditioning period of seven days.

"There is absolutely no other lip plumper of this kind which explains its high demand and waiting list," Thienna Ho, founder and inventor of the Xtreme Lip-Shaper® System, says. "The product will be available early this summer and is for males and females, 16 and older."

Additionally, all lip enhancement pump parts are eco-friendly, non-toxic and ultra-hypoallergenic.

"I always had beautiful lips until I was in my mid-30s when they began to lose their youthful appearance," Thienna says. "I consulted with plastic surgeons, had temporary lip injections and more. The process was not only expensive, but dissatisfying. I was pretty sure that I was not alone in my frustration, so I set out to create a product that would be effective, less expensive and easy to use."

NY Now August 17-21, 2013 is pleased to feature the perfect Turkish Towel Collection®. Stop by and see our complete towel collection made from organic linen, silk, or Bergama cotton and harvested from the Aegean Sea Valley

Design Daily: Summer Swim-cessories from the Turkish Towel Collection
By Sarah Virginia White / 07/30/13

Part of the joy of living in California is waking up to a hot day and deciding, on the spot, that I need to head to the nearest swimming hole. For those days, whether they take me to a sleepy oxbow in wine country's Russian River or a broad swath of SoCal coastline, I've discovered the perfect towels, from Istanbul expat Selin Aykiran, owner of Turkish Towel Collection in Berkeley.

These towels, made from organic linen, silk, or Bergama cotton harvested from the Aegean Sea Valley, will elevate your next seaside getaway with bright colors and impeccable, centuries-old construction. Aykiran, who has a background in fashion design from his years in Italy building high-end denim companies, built his own textile factory in Bursa, Turkey, and employs a team of weavers to hand-loom each towel. They employ methods that have been native to the area for 400 years, including weaving long, double loops into the thick bath sheets to boost absorbency. (read more)

History of Turkish Towel Collection / Selin Aykiran
I grew up in Istanbul, an 8000 year old city with tiny streets that lead to the Grand Bazar, one of the design centers of the world. I moved to London, England to further my education in Textiles. It was there that in the evenings you would find me on Carnaby St. selling souvenir mirrors to the tourists and then days on Oxford St. selling high end Italian designer jeans. This adventure took me to the world famous, South Molton St. where I opened up the high end, Italian, casual clothing boutique, AMERICANINO. It was AMERICANINO Jeans, from Italy that inspired me to move to Bologna, Italy. There in Italy I started my jean company, FORZA12, and started working for FIORUCCI Jeans. With my next venture, my move to New York City, I brought with me FIORUCCI Jeans, as well as my boutique, FORZA ITALIAN CLOTHING, which I opened on Columbus Ave, New York City. With talented Italian companies like C.P. COMPANY, SIRIO, REPLAY JEANS, DIESEL JEANS, and GOLDIE-ITALIA the store was a big success. It was this strong background and love of textiles that brought me to create an organic towel company. My research brought me back to Turkey where I would find the finest Organic Bergama Cotton to use for my luxurious towels and bath sheets.

In 1995 I built my factory in Bursa, Turkey, and founded Turkish Towel Collection®. My towels can be found in my boutique store in Berkeley, California, or ordered via email or website. My towels are also available exclusively through independent stores nationwide. I also manufacture my towels under private label for very discriminating clients. However the most unique designs and colors are reserved for my special customers that shop through me directly. Today Turkish Towel Collection® is recognized as the industry leader winning many awards for the innovation, beauty and quality of my products.

Questions / Answers:
How did you start your business?
I started my business in my garage in Noe Valley, San Francisco when I moved from New York in 1999.

Do you often travel to Turkey to source your towels, and what was one of your favorite experiences doing so?
Yes. I travel several times a year to Turkey. I start my trip in Istanbul, and make my way to my textile factory in Bursa; where I create my designs from the original concept to the final production.

What was one of my favorite experiences?
One of my favorite experiences was when I first reinvented traditional Turkish hand loomed methods and transformed them into a more updated and modernized way of producing the classic ‘Turkish Towels'.

This art originated in the 17th Century in Bursa, Turkey. Through my fashion design background from Bologna, Italy, I was able to combine tradition with a more modern style of construction.

I am proud to say, I am the first inventor of this textile experience. We are also the only Turkish Towel Factory left in Turkey that produces the textiles, and towels we create.

What do you love about Turkish towels versus other varieties?
The most important difference is the construction, and quality of the cotton. Our towels are made of 100% Organic Bergama Cotton from the Aegean Sea. When it comes to towels or any of the textiles we create, quality and authenticity comes first.

TOKYObay Launches a FW'13 collection of watches and bracelets that Combines Brand History From Japan & America. Represneted at NY Now August 17-21, 2013 Booth #8162

NY Now August 17-21, 2013 is pleased to feature the launch of FW' 13 Collection of Watches & Bracelets by TOKYObay. Stop by and visit us in Booth #8162

TOKYObay Combines Brand History From Japan & America into FW'13
Global Print Chic Vs. Retro Minimalism

TOKYObay, a San Francisco fashion watch & accessories brand led by design duo Jun Kobayashi & Dory Isaacs, launch a FW'13 collection of watches and bracelets that pull from both designer's backgrounds. With Jun reigning from Japan and Dory a transplant from the UK to San Francisco, the duo have brought together their influences to create a unisex collection of bold watches & accessories. A focus on woven prints with larger open dials is cleverly contrasted with a collection of minimal classic designs to create a line of wearable, style heavy pieces.

Anatoli, matching Tex bracelet (left), Odoshi (middle) and Katana (right) use authentic woven prints on durable Italian leather cuff style straps. These intricate patterns paired with various hardware finishes & subtle dial color hits create an effortlessly unique look easily worn by men & women alike. With original tribal patterns on the strap, Anatoli's dial features a faint star etching surrounded by darted metal hour marks. A matching Tex bracelet is introduced as an instant stacking piece or a standalone style with or without a watch. Odoshi (middle) &Katana (right) integrate Japanese & American aesthetics by using, Sanada Obi, a tightly hand woven cotton & silk material with a 400 year old history. Originally used as a strong cord to wrap and fasten Samurai sword handles, the ‘Obi' is still used in traditional Japanese clothing & decorations today. Created on specialty looms by a collective of artisans outside of Kyoto, the intricate designs are given a new angle on this exclusive TOKYObay line for both men & women.

In conjunction with these more graphically focused textures, a simpler aesthetic is introduced in the form of retro minimalism - Specs, Smith & Code. In place of the standard stainless steel case, the Specs watch case is made from an acetate plastic material traditionally used for eyewear. The lightweight material is polished to highlight a classic tortoise shell effect and buffed in other colors to reveal a matte finish against a smooth Italian leather strap. Color hits on the dial & bezel give this piece a minimal but playful touch that works as a men's or women's wardrobe staple. To maintain accuracy & durability, the acetate watch has been built with an inner lining of stainless steel to further secure the Japanese Miyota movement. Smith's classic look with subtle flair is apparent with its full numbered open dial, antique finishing and dash of color stitching on a thick ridged Italian leather strap. A weighty look that can go from weekend to work wear. The Code is a women's cuff band which boasts a clever dial design inspired by a minimalist bar code pattern. The iconic graphic is followed through the whole dial, increasing in width as time passes. Variations in case plating from shiny silver to sleek jet black, coordinate with subdued leather colors. A sleek silhouette with edgy graphics.

More feminine styles with a simple yet modern look are Frida & Trail. Frida is a new triple wrap style with a petite sliding watch head for an effortless jewelry style look. The instant stacking piece has contrast seasonal color stitching on soft Italian leather straps. The Trail is the perfect every day watch with compact silhouette, full numbered dial and delicate contrast stitching on soft Italian leather strap.

TOKYObay's Fall Winter'13 line draws from its 21 year history in Japanese & American cultures by integrating indigenous woven fabrics into classic retro designs. Using unique patterns, color combinations, dial detailing and innovative finishes, TOKYObay strikes the perfect balance between style & utility.
