Bridge for Africa's signature product is the South African Zulu Telephone Wire Basket. These versatile baskets - whose patterns vary according to the inspiration of the artists who created them -can be displayed as art or put to practical use. Additionally, buyers can now bring their customers a range of other products created from telephone wire, including jewelry and Christmas ornaments, also offered by Bridge for Africa.
Vibrant baskets woven from telephone wire, unique copper wire jewelry, glimmering beaded Christmas ornaments - since 2006, trade show attendees have come to know Bridge for Africa as the source for these and other quality handmade gift items that offer a contemporary twist on traditional African crafts. In 2010, buyers can once again look forward to seeing Bridge for Africa at the summer installments of the California Gift Show, Chicago Market, and New York International Gift Fair to bring exciting products to their customers.
But while the unique and innovative products in the Bridge catalog begin with telephone wire, they certainly do not end there. WAXING NOSTALGIC expands handcrafted Beeswax Ornaments into the 2010 corporate gift and special events market. The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
The beeswax ornaments produced by WAXING NOSTALIC are cast from an impressive collection of molds inspired by antique springerle and speculaas cookie boards, colonial gingerbread presses, primitive American butter molds, Victorian chocolate molds, and vintage European marzipan molds. About 50 different designs are available, spanning a wide range of themes and sizes, from tiny miniature corns to enormous, ornate 16th century wedding hearts weighing in at half a pound. Each ornament is cast, trimmed, and tinted entirely by hand from 100% pure white beeswax. No paraffin or chemical stabilizers are added. Integral color (achieved with beeswax-based pigments) is permanent and will not fade. Although surface tints are somewhat more delicate, they should not rub off with normal use.
As an added value, each ornament comes with its own personalized hang tag which states the actual name of the ornament, the date its original mold was produced, and (if known) who carved it. The tag also contains historical information, instructions for care, suggestions for use, and other relevant information. "If someone wants the name of a special event printed on the front of the tag," says Taylor, "we can customize it accordingly."
Although most clients prefer their ornaments to be cast in a natural shade, occasionally WAXING NOSTALGIC gets requests to match the color of bridesmaids' dresses, a corporate logo, or even the color scheme of floral arrangements, table linens, etc. Working from client-provided swatches, samples are produced for approval and orders filled accordingly. Client-provided ribbon can also be used.

Eco Opulence - born out of a passion for nature and the beautiful gifts it gives, namely pearls - see our collection at The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
Eco Opulence was born out of a passion for nature and the beautiful gifts it gives, namely pearls. Pearls have been a source of beautiful jewelry for millennia. And today, more than ever, they are the best choice for socially and environmentally conscious people. Why? Because the cultivation of pearls requires the preservation of the ecosystem. The water must be pristine, the land around it must be undisturbed, and the air clean. The slightest change in water temperature, salinity, pollution and current can kill the oysters.
In fact, the cultivation of pearls is the only industry that requires man to preserve and protect the environment. It is also 100% sustainable. Every pearl, oyster and shell is used and reused; nothing is wasted. Our pearls are not only eco-friendly, they are a product of a partnership with the environment. Our pearls are 100% organic. They can be worn straight from the oyster, without polishing, harsh refining or processing like other gems. Our cultured pearls have high luster, minimal blemishes, and thick nacre. They have not been dyed, irradiated, coated or treated in any way.

Sea Stones products are inspired by the natural elegance and beauty of water-smoothed stones - Featured at The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
Inspired by the natural elegance and beauty of water-smoothed stones, two rockhounds select stones from New England beaches and turn them into functional and decorative art. The collection of Wine Bottle Stoppers, Stone Stemmed Wine Glasses, "Coast Hooks", Cabinet Pulls and other work brings nature's small masterpieces into the home, blending eye-catching stones, hardwood, stainless steel and copper to create a natural accent to any décor.
Sustainable, Versatile Hangers a Hit with Decorators and their Clients
An innovative hanger made from natural materials is striking a chord with interior designers and consumers around the country. Coast Hooks MinisTM are the latest creation from a pair of eco-friendly artists who replant trees and also "plant" stones.
Sea Stones has blended two of their most popular items to create simple, natural hooks that mount easily and are a pleasure to use and touch.
Coast Hooks MinisTM combine real stones harvested from New England beaches with solid stainless steel and solid cherry. The result is a versatile hanger that can be used for towels, clothing, accessories and more.
"Sustainability is important to us," says artist Anne Johnson. "So in addition to using FSC certified hardwoods, we replant 10 times the number of trees that we use in the production of our work each year."

SFERRA Announces Launch of "Lose Count" Campaign - Putting Counting Threads to Bed - Find SFERRA collection of luxury linens at The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
Lose Count's interactive website, includes video tips on caring for fine linens, folding a fitted sheet, changing the look of your bed with pillows and altering your bed style for the seasons. Aaron Stewart, Creative Director for SFERRA, depicts what he sleeps on and why thread count is only part of the story. The "Anatomy of a Bed" section allows visitors to discover the many components that can make a bed more comfortable and stylish while the "Bedding Glossary" guides you through everything you've ever wanted to know about luxury bedding (and more).
While many look to thread count when purchasing sheets, it is really only a small part of the equation. What thread count won't tell you is what the quality of the threads are, how they are woven and finished and most importantly, how they feel. "The finer the fiber, the better the sheet" says Stewart. "The longer the fiber, the better it can be spun into smooth, stronger, finer yarn. And finally, the fabric finishing determines the ultimate texture, color and softness. SFERRA considers fine finishing an art form and guards the exact process as a secret."
SFERRA invites you to join the Lose Count campaign to get lost in layers, not in numbers; because if you're still counting threads, then don't count on a good night's sleep.

The perfect bags by Flip & Tumble - The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010

philosophy behind the bag.
If you're going to carry a bag around with you everywhere, it should be designed to support more than just grocery shopping. Its style and function should let you pick up that gallon of milk, but it should also work if you're headed to the gym, to a nice restaurant with friends, or even to a whirlwind trip through Indonesia.
We, Hetal Jariwala and Eva Bauer, met while attending Stanford University's Product Design program. While in school, we discovered that we shared a unique interest in solving everyday problems in clever, simple, joyful ways. After working in the design field for a short while, we ultimately decided to give up the steady paychecks, pursue our passion, and take the leap to start flip & tumble.
NEW - 24-7 bags - with prints
If you have tried to switch to reusable shopping bags, you have probably learned that the hardest part is simply remembering to bring your bags with you each time you go shopping. Because not all shopping trips are planned, this is even more difficult.
flip & tumble's shopping bags get around the problem of remembering the bags because they are small enough to simply live in your purse or messenger bag all the time. That way they are simply there when you need them.
Wondering what we've been up to? Well all work and no play makes for boring f&t'ers, so we've been playing with fun, colorful shapes transforming them into bold, modern prints for the bags. Check out our latest prints to see what we came up with.
We're reigning in those loose lemons, cucumbers, avocados and all that other fresh produce with a handy 5 pack of produce bags. Grab a pack of produce bags, some 24-7 bags, and you're all set for the market

Riverside Design Group Announces Perennial HopeTM, a New Line from Plates With PurposeTM - See our new collection at The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
"For Riverside Design, the Perennial HopeTM line of inspiring perennial flower plates is a way to raise awareness of organizations that support women facing serious health issues," says Cassandra Ott, Riverside Design Group Creative Director.
The first design is a crocus, and 15% of the proceeds will go to FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered), an organization that provides help to those with certain genetic predispositions to breast and ovarian cancer. "Crocuses are the first sign that spring is on its way," says Ott, who designed the plate. "They peek through the snow, demonstrating their strength and resiliency, and give other flowers the inspiration to follow in their footsteps. For this reason, they seemed like the perfect symbol for what we wanted the Perennial HopeTM collection to represent."
Rutstein adds, "A crocus reminds us that, in spite of harsh winters, we, too, can endure, rebound and overcome life's most difficult challenges."

Handmade Expressions offering a product line with value added by the earth-conscious, people-positive aspects of production see our entire collection at The New York International Gift Fair, August 14-19, 2010
Handmade Expressions' success in reaching conscious buyers has helped the company grow even in times of a recession. The sales of November 2009 are up over 200% when compared to the sales of November 2008 (which were already up from the sales of 2007). The company's growth is tied to the success their products have in retail stores. One reason for this is that the top-quality bags, purses, scarves, jewelry, home décor and stationery products are coupled with marketing materials. These educate the sales people and the consumers about the Fair Trade products.
Tree of Life Cushion Covers
These cushion covers are made from locally sourced, locally grown natural cotton. A tree of life is hand appliqued in the center. The applique fabric used was first hand blocked with interesting patterns made of natural dyes. Filler not included.
This product is made through the cooperation of 2 cooperatives. One is in charge of doing the hand block printing using natural dyes, while the other one hand appliques the tree of life on the cushion cover. All these people receive fair wages, work in a safe environment, and are given help to become self sustainable.
Color: White cushion cover, blue tree, red tree, green tree Composition: 100% Cotton Size: 18″ × 18"
An increase in consumer awareness about ethical consumption has also helped the Fair Trade industry and Handmade Expressions grow year after ear. Consumers are finding that the quality of these products, coupled with the value added by the earth-conscious, people-positive aspects of production, are good reasons to keep on buying Fair Trade products. Handmade Expressions' product-line is constantly increasing to help retailers meet the increased demand of conscious consumers. They introduce their new product lines twice a year at the New York International Gift Fair, Handmade Section Booth #6220.

So many influences are playing havoc with tradition and we are fortunate to have our own factory which allows our customers terrific flexibility. Simply by changing a base fabric for example from velvet to linen, the product can become increasingly chic and minimalist.
We're indebted to our brilliant embroiders who so skillfully interpret our designs and whilst much imitated English Home's design integrity and quality are never equalled.
