Eco Opulence - Eco-Friendly Pearl Jewelry - Accessories The Show, August 1-3, 2010 New York

About our Eco-Friendly Pearl Jewelry

Eco Opulence was born out of a passion for nature and the beautiful gifts it gives, namely pearls. Pearls have been a source of beautiful jewelry for millennia. And today, more than ever, they are the best choice for socially and environmentally conscious people. Why? Because the cultivation of pearls requires the preservation of the ecosystem. The water must be pristine, the land around it must be undisturbed, and the air clean. The slightest change in water temperature, salinity, pollution and current can kill the oysters. In fact, the cultivation of pearls is the only industry that requires man to preserve and protect the environment. It is also 100% sustainable. Every pearl, oyster and shell is used and reused; nothing is wasted. Our pearls are not only eco-friendly, they are a product of a partnership with the environment.

Our pearls are 100% organic. They can be worn straight from the oyster, without polishing, harsh refining or processing like other gems. Our cultured pearls have high luster, minimal blemishes, and thick nacre. They have not been dyed, irradiated, coated or treated in any way.

Eco Opulence continues the values of pearl cultivation in all aspects of our jewelry. After we hand select each pearl, it is set in metals (gold and silver) that are recycled, and not bought from mines. Our fine jewelry makes a statement for the earth.

History of Eco-Opulence

Roseann Gapusan's passion for pearls started at an early age. She grew up with 8 aunts, all of whom owned a variety of pearls. As a girl, she saw many pearl farms in south East Asia while traveling with her family. The wonder and amazement of discovering a pearl in an oyster never left her. Seeing such beautiful and pristine environments left a mark on her. As an adult, she visited the pearl farms of Mikimoto and witnessed the pearl divers harvest the oysters. She learned more about how pearl farming can be a tremendous positive impact on preserving the environment and oyster populations.

On April 23, 2008, Earth Day, she took that passion, knowledge and drive and started Eco Opulence. She personally connected with pearl farmers in the Philippines and China to develop her line of jewelry that featured untreated pearls. Later, this connection led her to more farming coops in Japan and French Polynesia. Meeting with family owned and operated jewelers and manufacturers of findings; she set about pairing these untreated pearls with recycled metals. The designs have used, gold, silver, stainless steel and even chrome.

Her design inspiration comes from anything and everything around her. The farmers and manufacturers she works with have also contributed to this collection. Ultimately, the collection features some innovative styles that surprise and delight and yet harkens back to the classic romance of pearls. Choose Eco Opulence fine jewelry as a statement for a healthy earth and a clean conscience. For additional information on Eco Opulence please visit us online at Eco Opulence
